The restoration works​

We knew that it would be a big project as we already had restored the slightly smaller house next door. We still underestimated the size of the task. The original schedule of 3 years is exceeded. However, we keep to our motto that afterwards it is more important that the house is properly restored rather than quickly, provided we can endure physically, mentally and financially. Financially and mentally things got a bit tight at stages, Corona and Brexit didn't help, but we didn't give up and hope to have pulled through the critical phase. It is an enormous boost that the first apartments, the staircase and the cellar are now ready. Unfortunately, we had to part with the other house next door, Eschbachstrasse 8, because we needed the income from the sale and both houses were just getting too much for us.

  

The main renovation work is now completed. The interior decoration of the ground floor still needs to be done.
