The restoration works​

We knew that it would be a big project as we already had restored the slightly smaller house next door. We still underestimated the size of the task. The original schedule of 3 years was well exceeded, it took us 7 1/2 years from 2016 until completion in 2024. We held on to our philosophy that it is more important to restore the house properly rather than quickly, provided we could endure the task physically, mentally and financially. Financially and mentally things got a bit tight at stages, Corona and Brexit didn't help, but we didn't give up and pulled through the critical phases. Now in 2024 it still doesn't feel reality yet that the project is now completed. Unfortunately, we had to part with the other house next door, Eschbachstrasse 8, because we needed the income from the sale and both houses were just getting too much for us.
