The extensively renovated and modernized half-timbered house (built around 1780) is located in the middle of the historic Monschau old town right by the wonderful river Rur with a view of the popular market square - pure vacation feeling ...... Monschau is the cultural centre of the Eifel region and one of the most popular holiday and day trip destinations.

"The apartment is in a reconditioned wooden structure house on the river bank, overseeing the town's main square. It is the cosiest accomodation we've experienced so far, the kitchen is fully equipped and the hammock chair is really comfy. There are a lot of restaurants around, but not many supermarkets, so best to do any grocery shopping before arriving. Being in the old town is like traveling back in time, it is quite small though, but there are a lot of trekking and biking paths around."

"Jede Wohnung des schönen Ferienhauses begeistert mich! Alle nötigen Räumlichkeiten sind gegeben und auch sehr schön eingerichtet. Die Wohnungen verdienen sich die Namen „Fachwerkcharme“ oder auch „-romantik“ vollkommen, trotz einer modernen und robusten Renovierung des alten Hauses bleibt die Stimmung eines Denkmals erhalten. Die Lage begeistert durch einen super Ausblick auf den Marktplatz und schnelles Erreichen der besten Restaurants -meine persönliche Empfehlung ist das „Hüftgold“ dank seines Wilds aus eigener Jagd- und am Morgen einen Fußweg von nur einigen Metern bis zum Bäcker. Für einen ruhigen Filmabend ist in jeder Wohnung mit vielen guten DVDs ausgesorgt!"

This was the best property i have EVER stayed in- and i have travelled A LOT. The attention to detail in refurbishing this property is mind-blowing. Everything is just great about it, if you ever find yourself in Monschau, book this property hands down. I myself am a hotel owner as well and i was borderline jealous of the meticulous work done at the appartment. Es war ein rundum perfekter Urlaub in Monschau! Die zentrale Lage der Fewo, die vielen wunderschönen Ausflugsziele und Aktivitäten in und um Monschau, die Freundlichkeit und die unkomplizierte Art des Vermieters, einfach wunderbar Das Sahnehäubchen war unsere gemütliche Fewo. Sie ist mit so viel Liebe eingerichtet worden. Man betritt die Wohnung und der Urlaub kann beginnen. Vielen lieben Dank für diese wunderbare Zeit in Ihrem heimeligen Fachwerkhaus direkt an der Rur!"

We found the apartment to be very spacious, there was enough space for everything. The location is unbeatable, you live in the middle of the old town and everything is within walking distance. "Very nice, clean apartment in the middle of the city center. The apartment was well insulated and there was no noise from outside. Within 2 minutes you are at the bakery and all the beautiful sights are within walking distance. The apartment was clean and fully furnished. It was better and more beautiful than we expected."

"Das Appartement "Am Fluss" ist ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht und darüber hinaus. Man merkt, dass die Gastgeber sich viele Gedanken gemacht haben, damit sich ihre Gäste wohlfühlen. Es war super sauber und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Lage der Wohnung ist super zentral, direkt an der Rur mit Blick auf den Markt. Morgens kann man man beim Frühstück der Stadt beim Aufwachen zuschauen. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Monschau und die Unterkunft hatte daran großen Anteil."

"We very much enjoyed the stay in the appartment in the heart of Monschau. It was a pleasure to look upon the city centre and there is a lot to do. The appartment is authentic but with modern and clean facilities. Only we arrived on a very crowded day, going through the centre with the car was a bit stressful. We were very happy that we could make use of the bike storage for our baby stroller. We very much recommend this unique accommodation."

"Unser Aufenthalt bei Michael war super. Die Wohnung war in einem top Zustand und war gemütlich eingerichtet. Es handelt sich um einen Altbau, der mit sehr viel Liebe und großem Aufwand saniert wurde. Der Charme des Altbaus ist dabei komplett erhalten geblieben ohne dass man dabei auf warmes Wassser oder dichte Fenster verzichten muss. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung. Wir kommen gerne wieder."

Die Lage könnte nicht besser sein – ruhig, idyllisch und dennoch zentral. Das Haus selbst war makellos sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und noch schöner, als wir es uns vorgestellt hatten. Der Gastgeber war unglaublich sympathisch und die Kommunikation war von Anfang an klar und unkompliziert. Man hat sich direkt willkommen gefühlt! Der Ort hat all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen und wir können es wärmstens weiterempfehlen."

"First, the location is perfect. It's in the very middle of downtown Monschau. Everything is within 2 minutes of walking. You are looking down onto the main plaza, or city Christmas tree of you go during the winter, like we did. The river flows underneath and sleeping with a window cracked up is delightful. It's a spectacular location. The place. It's cozy, adorable on the inside, roomy, comfortable and the best duvets we've slept in. The building and interior authenticly German, antique and rustic, but somehow it felt brand new. It was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Other than that, Michael hospitality was outstanding and we'd stay here again anytime we can. 5 stars. Truly highly recommended."

"Wunderschönes Appartement in absolut zentraler Lage von Monschau. Die Wohnung befindet sich im 2. Stock eines denkmalgeschützten Hauses, das 2016 aufwändig restauriert wurde. Da es ein wirklich altes Haus ist, sind die Treppen recht steil und eng. Wir haben die sehr gemütlich eingerichtete Wohnung absolut makellos sauber angetroffen. Auch die Küche ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Erwähnenswert: obwohl die Wohnung im Ortszentrum von Monschau liegt, ist es innen dank gut isolierter Fenster recht leise, selbst wenn draußen der Bär los ist .(An unserem Wochenende feierte Monschau Halloween, da war ganz schön was los!)"

You are close to all kinds of catering establishments to eat something, but it is also so cosy in the house that it is pleasant to cook for yourself. We also enjoyed the DVDs we could watch! Das einzige, was zum Fehlen des letzten Sterns geführt hat, war die ( naturlich in einem Altbau) die Hellhorigkeit. wir hatten die Wohnung im 1. OG und hatten das Pech, Übermieter zu haben, die einfach sehr laut waren. Aber grundsäzzlich ist diese Unterbringung sehr zu empfehlen."

"This is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever visited and one of the most stunning and characterful Airbnbs I have stayed in. It looks even better in real life! The apartment was so unique, with a breathtaking view of the river and the town - it was actually difficult to leave the comfort of the place! When we did venture out, taking the hosts up on their excellent reccomendations, the locals of Monschau made us feel right at home, especially the pub Zum Haller and its landlords just below our accommodation. I would book to stay here again in a heartbeat and have already reccommended it to a few friends. It was such a special trip!"

"Sehr schöne, saubere und liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung. Freiliegendes Holzfachwerk und passende Farbwahl unterstreichen des Charakter des Denkmals. Etwas laut in den Morgenstunden, wenn die Anlieferung der benachbarten Restaurants erfolgt und das Fenster geöffnet ist. Lage mitten im Zentrum von Monschau und prima Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Radtouren. Hinweis an ältere und alle, denen Treppensteigen nicht so gut gelingt - Das Treppenhaus ist sehr eng und die Stufen sind recht steil, so wie es früher eben war. Im Erdgeschoss aber kein Problem. Ich würde diese Wohnung jederzeit wieder buchen."
